As I announced in a note yesterday, for today's issue we are going back to the roots of the newsletter with a nice dump of indie games taken directly from my Steam wishlist. The list is quite long, perhaps long enough to fill two issues and most of the games I will list are yet to be released.
So let's cut the nonsense and start the merry-go-round!
First of all, I leave you the link to the Steam Curator page where you can find my recommendations. A follow costs nothing <3 https://store.steampowered.com/curator/41249470/
We start with a nice game of work but with a few twists
Trans-Siberian Railway Simulator
It’s a weird mix of a train simulator and a survival game, you must drive a classic Russian locomotive through the Trans-Siberian railway facing wild animals, bad people, severe frosts and constantly breaking down locomotives.
Errand Boy
This is a wholesome action adventure game told through 5 interweaving adventures and heroes with one overall purpose: Save the town from the imminent disaster.
Shadow of Aya: An ode to the 8-bit classic action adventure. Handcrafted world (no procedural), non-linear progression, lots of mysteries to discover and great elemental-based gameplay.
The Bloodline: is a fantasy action RPG, class-free, where you take the role of a descendant of the Harbinger Bloodline - a lineage that was gifted the power of foresight when an ancient god gifted them his own blood.
The Drifter: “A Pulp Point-n-click Adventure Thriller Drawing on King, Crichton and Carpenter, with a dash of 70s Ozploitation.”
Dungeon Slayer
A turn-based strategy game where you explore dark dungeons in a fantasy world filled with the monster. Use items such as the explosive and flammable barrel in your environment to beat your enemies.
Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles: From the maker of Falconeer, Tomas Sala, it’s a base-building game set in a sort of Waterworld (the movie) land. Very good UI and lovely art makes this game a little gem for the lover of the genre.
The Siege and the Sandfox: a 2D metroidvania with a lot of acrobathic action. “Master dynamic parkour abilities to explore the cavernous depths of an ancient underground prison, evading detection and avoiding certain death from a sand-borne evil”
The Invincible: a story-driven adventure, first-person game, set in a hard sci-fi world by Stanisław Lem. Published by 11 Bit Studios (Frostpunk, Children of Morta) it set to be released this year.
Dordogne
The only game on the list that has already been released, Dordogne is a wonderful and unique narrative experience set in terrific hand-painted watercolor environments.
Let Bions Be Bygones: choose your unique path in this atmospheric narrative future-noir thriller. Along the lines of narrative games such as Roadwarden and Disco ELysium.
Viewfinder
OK, I hope you made it this far in your reading because this is one of the games I am looking forward to the most this year. Hard to explain, I hope your email client can upload the gif. Basically it's a puzzle game where you take pictures of any point in a scenario and place the objects in the picture anywhere else in the same scenario.
Venba
”A short narrative cooking game, where you play as an Indian mom, who immigrates to Canada with her family in the 1980s. Players will cook various dishes and restore lost recipes, hold branching conversations and explore in this story about family, love, loss and more.”
Bioid
The description of the game on Steam is quite vague. From the trailer and what we could see, it seems to be an adventure full of puzzles, strange and memorable characters, incredibly weird environments and incredible hand-drawn graphics. Well worth the wait.
Moonstone Island
“Moonstone Island is a creature-collecting life-sim set in an open world with 100+ islands to explore. Make friends, brew potions, collect Spirits, and test your strength in card-based encounters to complete your Alchemy training”
A pixelated good-looking game with lots of charme and stuff to do (and collect!). If you are into this kind of game, go wihslist now!
We have seen 15 games so far. My wishlist contains about 330 of them so I still have material for quite a few numbers (although from the 330 we should subtract those that are not indiegame or have already been released for a while and I haven't bought yet).
I hope you've found what you're looking for, leave a like and share the newsletter with friends, family, acquaintances and colleagues!
Hasta la vista!
